Bondage rope

Whether you're drawn to the meditative art of Shibari, a classic over-the-wrist tie, or something entirely your own, the right rope makes all the difference. Our bondage rope collection brings together soft yet strong options in natural fibres and synthetic blends, chosen for their smooth handling, comfortable hold against skin, and reliable performance under tension.

From beginners picking up their first length to experienced riggers building out their kit, every piece here is selected with safety, sensation, and aesthetics in mind. Explore vivid colours, tactile textures, and versatile lengths that make restraint play as visually striking as it is intimate.

Is bondage rope safe to use, and what safety precautions should I keep in mind?

Rope bondage can be practised safely when both partners communicate openly and prepare in advance. Always agree on a clear safeword or signal before a scene begins, and check in regularly during play. Avoid placing rope directly over joints, the spine, or anywhere you can feel a pulse, as compression in these areas can restrict circulation or press on nerves. Keep a pair of blunt-tipped safety scissors or medical shears within easy reach so you can release a tie quickly if needed. Never leave a restrained person unattended.

What is the difference between jute, hemp, and cotton bondage rope?

Each material has a distinct feel and practical character:

  • Jute is lightweight, holds knots with a firm grip, and is the fibre most associated with traditional Shibari. It has a natural, slightly rough texture that many people find pleasurable, and it becomes softer with conditioning and use.
  • Hemp is similar to jute but slightly heavier and more durable. It also grips knots well and is favoured for structural or load-bearing ties.
  • Cotton is the softest option and the easiest on delicate skin. Knots do not hold quite as firmly as with natural fibres, which makes it a good starting point for beginners or for lighter, more sensual restraint rather than complex patterns.

How do I clean and care for my bondage rope?

Care depends on the material. Cotton rope can usually be machine-washed in a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle and air-dried fully before storage. Natural fibre ropes like jute and hemp should be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth rather than soaked, as prolonged moisture can weaken the fibres and cause mildew; allow them to dry completely in a well-ventilated space. Synthetic ropes can be rinsed under warm water and left to air-dry. Whichever type you own, store rope loosely coiled in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve strength and colour.

How much rope do I need to get started?

A common recommendation for beginners is to start with two or three lengths of approximately 8 m (around 26 ft) each. One length is typically enough to tie a single limb or create a simple chest harness, so having a couple to hand gives you flexibility without being overwhelming. As you become more confident and explore more complex ties, you can add lengths to your kit gradually.

Will my order be shipped discreetly?
