Squirting involves a clear, watery liquid oozing from your pussy when you’re sexually aroused or during orgasm.

It’s not something everyone can and will do, but if you like the idea of it, it’s worth understanding the squirting basics and getting to grips with how to start exploring your ability to squirt.Β

Sometimes known as gushing, squirting is a natural, involuntary action. The fluid flows from the urethra and this typically happens when you’re relaxed and highly aroused.

I used to think squirting and ejaculation were one and the same, but they’re not. When you ejaculate the skene gland produces a thick milky liquid, whereas squirting produces a larger quantity of transparent fluid.Β

I also had some concerns that squirting somehow involved urinating, but that’s not necessarily true either.

I did a little research and discovered that whilst the squirt fluid has a few of the same components as urine, it’s not the same as pee. Both come via the urethra but squirt liquid is diluted and contains antigen from the skene glands.Β

Prep for squirtingΒ

If you’re keen to explore squirting you need to start off by getting in the mindset. This involves letting go of performance anxiety.

Getting worked up about whether you will squirt or not adds a layer of pressure you don’t need. Instead, focus on fun experimentation with no expected outcome.Β

Squirting can be a messy business as I’ve discovered on more than one occasion. If I think there may be a squirting moment I try to lay a couple of towels down in advance.

Sometimes this isn’t practical so I just prepare myself for the fact that the sheets may need a wash later.Β

If I’m playing solo I sometimes head to the bathroom and slink into the shower or a bathtub where I can get as wet as I like.

Whether I’m masturbating or having sex with a lover I make sure I go for a pee beforehand. I don’t want to end up bursting to go, and then unsure if it’s urine or sex squirty juices trickling out!Β

Techniques for squirtingΒ

If you’re new to squiring I would advise masturbation to start with as it allows you a pressure-free environment to experiment alone. You can discover what your body enjoys and work out the best way to get to squirty heaven.Β

G spot stimulation works well for me if I’m in the mood to squirt. You’ll find the sacred spot a couple of inches inside your vagina, up toward your belly button.

If you feel around with your finger, you’ll discover the G Spot has a spongy, rough texture compared to the area around it.Β

To reach the G Spot apply lube and then insert two fingers. You will need to curl your fingers upwards and bend them slightly - as if you are beckoning someone towards you.

There are some great G-spot vibrators available now too so you can swap your fingers for a specially designed curved dildo.Β

Whilst G Spot stimulation is a common technique for squirting others prefer clit stimulation.

With so many nerve endings the clit is super sensitive, so don’t go in too hard and fast. Kissing and caressing will set the tone, and arousing other erogenous zones will get you in the mood.Β

When you’re ready for clit action you (or your lover) should start by touching the area around it. This indirect stimulation will increase arousal and anticipation, allowing the sexual tension to build.

Once you’re ready, lie back and enjoy fingers rubbing your love bud or lips delicately licking and sucking until you’re desperate to squirt.Β

If you fancy a winning orgasm and squirting combo you can’t beat the heady mix of simultaneous G Spot and clit stimulation. If I’m using a vibrator to tantalize my G Spot, or if I’m riding my guy to do it, I’ll often use my other hand to gently rub my clit.Β

Known as a blended orgasm, this delightful duo can really increase the likelihood of you visiting squirt city.Β

When I’m feeling highly aroused and ready to squirt, I tend to feel a strong urge to pee.

The first time this happened I worried I would wet my panties, but I now realize that this sensation is the skene’s glands becoming fuller and preparing for release.Β

This feeling makes you want to tense up, but it’s better to relax the muscles and push down a little.

I’ll keep thrusting on my fingers or toy (If I’m solo) or on a nice big cock if I’m with my lover. I thought I would squirt quickly, but it took about twenty minutes of stimulating fun to get me anywhere close to squirting.Β

To squirt or not to squirt

Don’t pay attention to the porn movies showcasing vulva owners erupting like a volcano, squirting doesn’t have to be big and bold to be amazing. It could be a noticeable gush or a mild trickle, but it will still feel good.Β

I mentioned earlier that ejaculation and squirting were different, but interestingly you can ejaculate and squirt at the same time. I think I may have experienced that, but it’s hard to tell when the juices are flowing and the mood is euphoric.Β

The key to successful squirting is to relax, but remember squirting is not the be all and end all.

If you’ve tried to squirt and had no joy so far don’t be disheartened. Sex shouldn’t be about the final destination, it should be about having a fucking good time and enjoying yourself - squirting or not!Β
